What Thing You Need to Know When Coloring Curly Hair

I think no anyone like to stay the same, also for hair color. You will always want to change your hair color after a period when you stay a hair color. No matter you are straight , wave or curly hair. To be honest, it’s better for your curls if you don’t color them at all. Because any chemical treatment all will lead some damage to your hair. However if you don’t like your real hair color (I’d describe mine as neither brown nor blonde) or in case you’ve got some grey hair, there are some helpful tips to bear in mind to keep your curls healthy and strong after coloring them.

First is use a shampoo with sulfates after colored but just once. After your stylist colored your curls then will wash them with a shampoo which containing sulfates, it’s great for the first coloring hair wash. Because the sulfates help you remove all chemicals and to wash out any silicone if your stylist doesn’t use silicone-free products.

Second is make sure your curls with moisture. After using a shampoo content sulfates, it’s necessary that getting your curls the moisture they need in the first coloring hair wash, as sulfates will make your curls dry. You can detangle and comb your curls with your silicone-free conditioner. I strongly recommend you to additionally give a deep conditioner. You might want to leave it in for at least 10 minutes.

Thirdly, get the protein-moisture-care. Many clients who’s curls need more protein so my suggest a protein treatment after coloring their curls. Because generally will lack proteins after coloring them.

Finally, give your colored curls the special care they need. As coloring curly hair will give your hair with some damage, will likely increase your curls’ porosity. May be you will said the more porous your hair is, the easier it’ll absorb moisture. but the true is also easily release moisture. So you need to pay more attention to your curls than for no-colored treated curls.
